Tea in the Garden

Tea in the Garden:

by Beryl Cook, who died on May 28, 2008, at the age of 81. She had no formal training. Isn't this piece delightful? Now I'm not suggesting we enjoy our T Stands for Tuesday gathering in the nude -although who would know, I ask you- but that we wear hats. Yes, hats.

  2. I chuckled at the painting of nudes in hats enjoying tea - in the sunshine getting lots of the good natural Vit D. I'm down with that although I think I might frighten the neighbours, but maybe it might shut their barking dogs up (lol). Happy Tea Tuesday.

  5. I love Beryl Cook's paintings. She lived in Plymouth and first became known in the mid 70s when I was doing my teacher training there. We went to one of her first exhibitions.

  6. Okay, as long as I can wear my hat, I don't mind, great idea in summer. Thanks for the BIG smiles. Nice ATCs, too! Valerie (still clothed, but with base-cap)

  7. Such a fabulous post! The painting really made me smile and I'd be happy to wear a hat for T Day if that's what your suggesting ...lol πŸ˜‰. Your ATCs are wonderful too, love the sentiments - stay happy and at peace while we are waiting for normality, if we ever have that again ...lol πŸ˜€. Thanks for the smiles and wishing you a Happy T Tuesday! Take care! Hugs, Jo x

Funny, funny painting, D. During lockdown I've actually said to Chris, "We might as well go around naked and be more comfy."

    Happy T-Day! Eileen xx

  12. I really enjoyed this painting, dear. I thought it was brilliant with the hats. I'd have to buy a hat, but I would also have to wear my shoes, too. I can no longer go barefoot, even though I did for many years.

So glad to see the ATCs this week. I enjoyed all three. Thanks for sharing them and that painting with us for T this Tuesday. And thanks for the Tea invite in the nude.

  14. That painting sure is funny. I wonder if people actually do that. I would find it very embarrassing... and cold.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  17. Wonderful! I love Beryl Cook! (But I had never seen this particular piece) She lived in the West Country of England, not far from where we lived and I have seen a lot of her work. Unbelievable that she never had any formal training. A natural talent.
    Happy (belated) T-Day,
    Stay safe,
    Hugs,
    Lisca
