    1. Hasn't it?! Length alone sets films apart these days, though not always for the better ;)

    1. I think they do a lot. In fact, sometimes I think modern film makers are downright lazy compared to early ones.

  3. At first, I thought my sound had somehow been turned off when I had to reboot to get online. This was quite different, but I'm not familiar with Shakespeare, as I've said in the past.

    1. The first feature film with sound was in 1927, though there were commercial short films with sound as early as 1923.

  4. It is amazing how far costumes and movie scenes have come along since then. But it also must have been amazing to the audiences who went and saw this film back in 1913. What a magical things that must have been. Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

    1. It's not like Hamlet or Macbeth where you're spoiled for choice. There are much fewer adaptations of this one.

  6. How interesting that it's a silent movie interpreting Shakespeare's prose 😁. Happy Sunday! Hugs, Jo x

    1. They do a good job of telling the story even without sound.
