Sunset over the Mississippi River

Every year I go down to the river and watch the sunset on either the day of the Summer Solstice or on the longest day of the year. The solstice was late at night on the day I took the sunset photos in this post.

  1. Beautiful photos. I remember driving on that bridge over the Mississippi.

    1. Driving over the bridge is definitely not my favorite thing lol. It adds to the photo, though. I love the "M" shape for Memphis :)

  2. Beautiful sunset and what a great tradition. The Mississippi is like a lake! That must be a really long bridge. Cool to see since I've only since the Mississippi in St. Louis many years ago and then once in New Orleans. Happy Thursday. Hugs-Erika

    1. That bridge (the "M" bridge) is almost 2 miles long: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hernando_de_Soto_Bridge

    1. I'll bet that's a fun thing to do. They've added a pedestrian walkway across the river here, and it gives a different perspective.
