Sherlock Holmes is a 1922 silent film starring John Barrymore as Sherlock Holmes and Roland Young as Dr. John Watson. This was William Powell's first film.
I'm sure I have seen this but so long ago I don't remember the details. I think I saw the very first one, too. Oh, and I loved the Thin Man series of movies. :)
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
I though Basil Rathbone was the first Holmes. 😲

DeleteI read all the stories when I was in middle school. At that point my memory was so good that when I reread them I almost always know the ending. Sad!
