...it is easy to feel melancholy some days.
A beautiful painting! The flowers look so pretty and the title fits the image beautifully 😀. Happy T Tuesday! Hugs, Jo x
Melancholia a beautiful painting, but too bad that woman is sad. But I do think melancholia sounds much better than depression. Happy T day.
Lovely, soft colors. Oh, the doily reminds me of the cutwork doilies my grandmother made for my mother. Ma had them all over the place and now they are mine. Not melancholia, but a happy memory. Happy T Day
Thanks for sharing this with us-a lovely painting and so detailed too-I always get introduced to new to me artists from your posts Happy T
Interesting that this artist was painting in the late-19th century style and sensibility (Impressionism, it looks like) when his life was actually during the highly exciting introduction of cubism, fauvism, expressionism, and many other 20th century modern styles. best… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Wonderful painting, happy T Day! Valerie
Wow the expression on her face says it all. Nice piece for sure. Have a nice day.
What a lovely painting and the title describes it perfect.Happy T DayJan
What a beautiful painting! She really looks 'melancholic'. We don't use that word nowadays. We use depressed, or blue. Perhaps with a hint of nostalgia. Even sad.Happy T-Day,Hugs,Lisca
That's a beautiful painting. I really do like the mood it creates.
a beautiful and poignant painting. Thanks for sharing, and happy T day!
Beautiful- is that what a year without hugs looks like? Happy T Day, Chrisx
She may be melancholy, but this beautiful painting made me smile. I love how you tied it to T this Tuesday, too, dear friend. Thanks for this.
Lovely painting. Happy T Day!
Bitter-sweet. I wonder why she is so sad, having those flowers. Remembering a loved one who´s passed?
With the bottle on the night table I thought she was sick and someone sent her flowers. Haunting painting.
A nice painting ...All the best Jan
