from the back of the book:
Madame Maigret's trip to the dentist brings surprising insight to a baffling case.
When two human teeth are found in the furnace of a Flemish bookbinder, police quickly take him into custody. Blood stains are discovered on a suit in the suspect’s closet, but he denies ownership. Then, a strangely heavy suitcase found in his workshop disappears. A neighboring shoemaker is willing to talk but his story changes with successive trips to the local tavern and is discredited. Without a body, the case seems impossibly perplexing –until Madame Maigret offers her help.
...human teeth are found in the furnace?
ReplyDeleteYep, and you know that probably didn't happen by accident.
DeleteSomeone else mentioned this book recently. Maybe Jeanie. I've read a bunch of Maigret a long while ago. I have my mom's book that has 4 of his cases in them. Maybe this is one in the book. I should pull it out and reread them. As a said, it was a long time ago that I read them. They are good stories though, I remember that. Of course, why I have the book. Hope your weather is better than ours. It is so dark and wet! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest gave this to me for Mother's Day. They really are interesting stories!
DeleteToday we have overcast and temperatures 20 degrees lower than normal. It feels more like Fall than Spring.
Sounds like a fun read for this gloomy, rainy, long weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt was!

ReplyDeleteI've read and enjoyed a few of the Maigret novels but don't recognise this one. Many thanks and I'll add it to my ever growing to-read list!
ReplyDeleteThis one seemed shorter, which was a good thing right now.
DeleteSounds right up my alley! I love a good mystery. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Maigret mysteries are good ones, and some of them have been adapted for film/tv.
DeleteThis sounds good! Thanks for sharing, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThe ones I've read are good :)
DeleteI only found one ebook available by this author in my library. "Maigret and the Lazy BUrglar" I"ve checked it out. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found one and hope you like it. They've been adapted for tv, and those might be more accessible.
DeleteI adore Maigret books and this one looks fun. I like Mme. Maigret! I think it's about time for another.
ReplyDeleteShe's perfect, isn't she. There's just enough of her, never too much.
