Our ongoing bridge issue (the bridge that carries I-40 across the Mississippi River at Memphis is closed to all traffic for the foreseeable future due to serious issues found during the annual inspection) will cause shipping delays and increased prices for consumer goods.

The inspection process continues. from our local news: "MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Hernando Desoto I-40 bridge remains closed due to a fracture in a support beam that Memphians are beginning to realize was there years ago."

    1. The 2019 inspector was fired. Apparently what he did was fly a drone around the bridge, and that crack appears in 1 second of the footage. I heard he didn't do an actual physical inspection. All other bridges he's inspected are being re-inspected.

    1. Thanks! I never have cause to cross that bridge unless we're headed to Arkansas for vacation. It is an interstate highway, though, and a commuter route. So much traffic is having to be re-routed...

  3. I will watch this movie later. What a mess with the bridge.

  4. Great screen shots for Tea. As for the bridge... yikes! You may remember the S.F. Bay Bridge collapsed during an earthquake quite some time ago. I hope the closure doesn't cause you a bunch of detours and traffic.

  6. This sounds like a film I would LOVE. I love psychological thrillers almost as much as I love a good mystery. This looks wonderful for sharing T with us, too. Sorry to read about the bridge and was glad Tom brought up the engineer who was fired. I wondered why it got passed over for inspection for so long. At least now I don't think the reports got buried. Thanks so much for the bridge update and the wonderful film for T this Tuesday, dear.

  10. Wow that movie was intense - especially at the end. Super share!

The bridge is scary too - makes you worry about all of them everywhere - how many inspectors are being lazy. Also another sad situation with shipping problems and extra costs....a new thing every day it seems.

  12. You always find interesting films. Hubby goes to bed much earlier than I do nowadays, so I might get time to watch this (with earphones on)
Scary about that bridge and the fired inspector. makes you wonder... In Italy a bridge collapsed a few years ago, but in USA one doesn't expect an inspector to be so careless. It will take years of chaos and expense.
    Belated happy T-Day,
    Hugs,

  14. Finally watched this. Even though he was an absolutely horrible man you don't want them to win in the end. Still--can't call it a satifying ending as it was hard to be on anyone's side--LOL! Maybe can hope he will be a changed man after his ordeal? ;)

    3. Some of these old movies show a lot more evil than some of the modern violence-filled ones.
