About the new Blogger interface:

I schedule posts. And by that I mean I have posts scheduled for months in advance, even years in advance for things like "42" posts where I only want one a month to appear. In the current Blogger I can easily go to the page of posts I want by toggling that function on the top right of the dashboard. That takes me to the page where my next scheduled post is. In new Blogger it looks like my only option is scrolling forever down the page until I finally reach the post scheduled for the next day. This will Not Do. I've sent feedback but don't have much hope that'll make a difference. I've forgotten what WordPress was like, but I'll be revisiting that option if old blogger doesn't remain available.

Does anyone else have this problem?

  2. In the new blogger I am able to display a list of scheduled posts. From the menu I select posts which seems to default to all posts but there is an arrow just to the right of the word all - it very feint but is approx in the centre above the list of posts. Clicking on that arrow allows me to select all, draft, or scheduled posts. I hope this helps and is what you are looking for.

    1. Yes, I saw that, but "scheduled posts" still leaves me with pages of posts to scroll through. Hundreds of them.

  3. I love the photo. It is perfect for T day. And I get a new artist name to my repertoire. I am finding there are some dumb things in the new blogger. Like you can only publish 1 comment at a time. (Why would anyone want to do that?) And the little right hand side bar while you write your post, where you schedule and where you put in labels seems so congested and hard to keep track of. I can name a few more things too. Obviously the engineers who wrote the program for the new blogger are not bloggers themselves. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

    1. I've heard they tried to make it easier to use Blogger on mobile devices, but I use a laptop. The "improvements" break Blogger for me lol

  4. Too hot for soup today. Yes, I also schedule posts months in advance. I find it a two step process in New Blogger. After composing the post with date and time, publishing leaves it at Draft when viewed in All posts list. So, I've had to hit the publish button again to have it reflect Scheduled. Pictures take longer to upload. Also I was having an issue with embedding YouTube videos. Even though I had the correct link, new Blogger gave me YouTube options that weren't even close. That problem seems to have been fixed. I heard Wordpress was difficult to use and had a long learning curve. I guess I'll stick with the 😈 I know. Happy T Day

    1. I have a Wordpress account and didn't find it difficult when I tried it back in the day. I didn't switch because it didn't keep the formatting on Blogger posts when I tried to migrate them to Wordpress.

In new blogger I see how to schedule the posts, but if I keep my post in draft mode -say for a T Tuesday post I'm waiting for Elizabeth's link for- I can't get back to it to edit it without scrolling through hundreds of other posts. And then once I've done that it kicks me back to where I started, leaving me to scroll back through those same hundreds of posts to get back to the next one I want to edit. It's obviously not made for people who write posts using the system I use lol

  5. Maybe I don't understand your problem, but it looks to me as if the new interface allows you to choose to show posts that include "all" or "published" or "drafts" or "scheduled" -- not clear why this isn't ok for you.

    1. Yes, it does, but my problem comes from how _many_ posts I have scheduled. Too many for me to want to scroll through pages-worth of them to get back to the one I want to edit.

  6. The new blogger is a catastrophe. I never scedule posts foe more than a few days, so don't have that problem, but there are enough others. I was not happy with WordPress either. Oh well! Happy T Day, Valerie

    1. I didn't stick with new blogger long enough to try to compose a post. Just getting back to my oldest scheduled post was too tedious. I gave it up and switched back to old blogger. I hope they'll be like reddit and allow use of the old version as an option.

  7. I haven´t dared to take a look yet. I use the HTML-view and somehow hope it won´t be that bad?
This certainly has nothing to do with your problem, seesh, why make a good product worse?
So far I heard nothing positive!
Yay, finally too hot for soup now, summer has arrived :-) A happy T-day

  9. I have yet to experience the new Blogger but am thankful my son will be able to help me if I need it. I did read that you can somehow go back to the old blogger interface but I'm not sure how...so frustrating. Well, let's enjoy a cuppa for T Day:)

  10. Wow, I'm impressed that you schedule posts so far in advance, D. I was on Blogger and switched to WordPress for more functionality. But that functionality comes at a high cost. Plus they're gradually forcing users onto their Gutenberg block editor, which I have no interest in learning. No easy answers here, but I don't recommend switching to WordPress. I hope you can get a positive response from Blogger.

    Happy T-Day! Eileen xx

  11. I'm not sure what change you mean. I haven't clicked on the "Try the new Blogger!" button, so I think I'm still in the "old" mode. I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with blogger. :-(

  12. Beautiful painting! The colours are so rich 😁. I'm on WordPress so sorry I can't help with the new blogger, if it is on interest to you WordPress has been updated too so it probably won't look the same as you remember. WordPress has different menus for posts (Published, Scheduled, Drafts, Binned) and posts are listed in date order, there is also a search facility too to find certain posts too. Wishing you a wonderful week and a Happy Tuesday! Take care! Hugs Jo x

  13. I tried wordpress in the past and didn't like it-don't know why now. I never knew anyone that schedules a post a year in the future. I don't think that far ahead I am thinking. The only issue I have found is loading photos to get posted-it erases them when you go into load more photos-so that's wierd I think.
good luck with everything-liked the painting-Happy T Kathy

    1. I only want the 42s to be once a month. I watch a lot of movies but don't want them posted any more often than every other day. The same with books. I have posts scheduled much further out than a year.

  14. My apologies for visiting so late. My internet went out last night, then came back on again, only to go out a second time. It often happens when it rains, but it's been so dry here, I didn't realize it would be a problem.

I looked at the new blogger, but didn't try to post anything. I clicked on Legacy as my choice. Not sure it will stick, but I've done it twice, so hope they get the message. I don't have a cell phone (still) OR a laptop, just a desktop, so I have no need for the new blogger. I wish I could schedule posts in advance like you, but I somehow only manage a few at a time, unless I'm not busy, or have made a lot of art.

Soup sounds OK, but I'd prefer whatever is in that pitcher. Thanks for sharing this beautiful painting with us for T this Tuesday, dear.

    1. Yes, I'm sticking with old blogger and hoping that remains an option.

I just go ahead and write the posts for books, movies, 42s, etc. when I watch, read, and find them. I want to only have one post a day, but sometimes I watch as many as 3 movies a day, so... and I do read a lot.

  15. I thought I would just go with the new blogger. At first it wasn't bad but thennnnn, it wouldn't allow me to link, downloading one photo at a time and if I need to edit well good luck with that. I may have to find a new blog option.

  17. Lovely sweet painting.
I haven't switched and don't make posts ahead of time--don't even know how. I know. Hard to believe. I know most bloggers use drafts of schedule posts. Mine are immediate, I guess. But, even so, I have heard all kinds of problems uploading pictures, etc--and I have tons of pictures. I hope we can keep the old option.

    1. It's easy to schedule them ahead. You write them as usual but pick a day other than today and click "schedule". Your posts are about what's gone on with in now, though, so now is when you want to post them :) I hope we can keep the old option, too.

  18. I haven't even gone into new blogger. I've just been scheduling and writing to schedule as many posts as possible before the switch. I'm under the impression they were switching everyone to new blogger in July, whether we want to or not. I hope I'm wrong. I've heard there is a problem with uploading photos too and as you know, my posts tend to be photo heavy. Not looking forward to this.

  19. I also prefer the 'old' Blogger, but Blogger does not agree with iOS so I might have to change to Worldpress (I have an account), but I would need someone else to set up my account. I have tried and I don't understand their instructions. I always end up being directed to the paid accounts, but I want the free one of course. (As I would already have to pay someone to do it for me, so I don't want to also pay a subscription).
I seem to have read somewhere that Blogger will keep its old format as an option...
    Happy belated T-Day,

    1. It does look like old blogger will remain as an option. I tried Wordpress once upon a time but couldn't import posts from blogger so that the formatting stayed. That's not the issue for me it once was.

  20. I have no idea why they, Blogger, are making it more difficult than easier to use. From what I've read, the changes came about to allow users to create posts on their cell phones. Why not make that the option - Use cell; tick yes & move into that database. Fingers crossed that the old "legacy option" is around for awhile, I'll be sticking with that version. Today is very chilly, so a bowl of soup seems like a good lunch option.

for the problems with blogger, I´m afraid I can´t help you, because I have the same blogger yet. But after reading you and other people, I don´t want the new blogger.
Have a great Thursday dear friend, stay safe and
