I loved this song when it came out! Used to know every word. I do love a good story and this one had everyone guessing. I never knew that she wrote it, though. Cool! Yup--took me back. We all wondered and speculated. I don't think she ever revealed anything else about the lyrics.
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
I like this song and this version. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI remember when she first released it. We spent so much time examining the lyrics.

ReplyDeleteI rarely think about the song except around the 3rd of June.
DeleteI listened to this ... I like stories written into songs.
ReplyDeleteThis one was huge back in the day. People still ask her what they threw over the bridge. She's never said.
