This movie sounds like a classic love triangle... there's so many of the old black & whites build a story around a dead wife but not dead. I wonder how many are with a dead husband ...
I like the painting, a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea & read the classic dead wife story; Wuthering Heights
What a lovely painting. I'd love to sit in that garden. I thought this artist had died recently, but when I googled I found that she died in 1915! Wishing you a very happy T-Day, Hugs (These ones are allowed, but oh I so crave real hugs), Lisca
Oh I saw this movie and loved it! I'm a huge fan of the old movies, and even film noir more recently too. In contrast, the painting is really beautiful. Happy T day!
That garden is such a beautiful setting to enjoy a cup of tea, I can just smell all the beautiful flower blossoms from here ...lol 😀. Sending you Happy T Day wishes and wishing you well! Hugs, Jo x
This is such a pretty tea time piece. As long as its not too hot out there- so maybe in the morning or evening? And that sounds like an interesting film. Hope it was a super T day. hugs-Erika
Please forgive me for visiting so late. Once my "good" eye, which is really my bad eye gets tired, I know it's time to rest it. I hope you understand. I hope to see the love triangle film you shared, but right now, I'm pacing myself. I DO love that painting and had never heard of Helen Galloway McNicoll, although I really LOVE impressionist painters and am surprised I've not heard of her before. Thanks for sharing the film and that lovely painting by McNicoll with us for T on Tuesday.
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...beats me!!!

DeleteYou certainly hit the nostalgia cord here and I love it!!!! This is truly a great movie and the art is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWard Clever as a bad guy--goodness! And seeing him drunk--made me chuckle. He did it well, though. :)
ReplyDeleteThat movie looks good. And I love Hugh Beaumont!
