    1. I enjoy watching them when I find them. Reading them, not so much ;)

  3. I think I prefer the Lawrence Olivier Hamlet, but this one wasn't bad either. Enjoy your weekend, Valerie

    1. Yes, Olivier is the master. You can't go wrong with any of them.

  4. Once again, I can't seem to get into Shakespeare. I wish I was more interested in his work, but I can't seem to get past the prose.

    1. That's why the right play or video adaptation makes such a difference -all the difference in the world to my mind.

  5. It would have to be amazing to be Olivier's Hamlet. Richard Burton's adaptation was also mesmerizing.

    1. I'd be hard-pressed to pick one as best. I sometimes think it's like Doctor Who: the one you first see is yours :)

  6. Hamlet is a good play/story for sure. Olivier did a fabulous job with it-hey I know of a movie, but I haven't seen these. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

  7. I am not much of a Shakespeare fan but I am pretty sure I saw this years ago on PBS. I much prefer watching Shakespeare than reading him, regardless. (My mother used to read me Shakespeare at age 7 or 8 and then quiz me so he and I had a bad start.)

    1. ooo, yes, that'd be an enthusiasm killer for sure lol There used to be more attention to Shakespeare on public tv, but now it's all Jane Austen and period costume drama.
