Rocky Jones, Space Ranger was a 1950s-era television serial starring Richard Crane in the title role. There were 39 episodes, some of which contained complete stories while others were written so as to tell a story over the course of 3 consecutive episodes. They're dated, as you might expect, but great fun if you can get past the oppressive sexism. "Knit me a sweater"?
Season 1, Episode 1, Beyond The Curtain Of Space Chapter 1:
I am constantly amazed at your finds of some these oldies ...I wouldn't even know where to begin searching. "knit me a sweater" now a days would / could result in injury with those knitting needles.
I've been trying to find science fiction available online, and it's leading me a merry chase. Google and Wikipedia are very helpful lol Times have changed, but sometimes I think they haven't changed as much as we thought they had back in the 70s :(
I have never heard of this one. I agree with Patio Postcards that you are the queen of finding interesting things online. This looks fascinating. I always get a kick how they managed special effects back before computers generated them. Happy weekend! Hugs-Erika
They did remarkably good special effects in the old science fiction, I think. It's a different world now that there's so much of it computer generated.
I was too young for this one. Born in 51...I would have only been about three. But if I had been just a little older I would have been watching for sure. ;)
They sound fun. When I have a minute, I shall look at those. I love black and white films even if it is science fiction. Have a lovely week, Take care, Lisca
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
Sounds like fun
ReplyDeleteThey are fun. And there's not as much pure science fiction out there as you might think.
Deletewow I do not remember this one at all-I will ask Hubs if he remembers it I was really into watching cowboys growing up haha
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of these before.

DeleteI've never heard of these. I want to watch them, so I will bookmark this and return when I have a few hours each morning.
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of it. It's fun to see some of that old flair :)
DeleteThey look good, but not my cup of tea! Happy Weekend, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI watched these 3 episodes but won't watch the whole series.

ReplyDeleteYes, I never saw them first run or in re-runs. There's a lot of forgotten tv out there.
DeleteThese sound like fun.
ReplyDeleteI liked it but not enough to watch the rest of the series.
