The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne is a 22-episode science fiction television series based on the idea that there was more fact than fiction in Verne's novels. The first episode features David Warner, a favorite of ours, which made it an easy choice to try this series.
I can't find DVDs for sale right now, but you can watch episodes online. It got good reviews and is great fun.

I loved reading Jules Verne. This sounds really good
ReplyDeleteIt's an intriguing concept, I think -so different from making an adaptation of one of the books.
DeleteLooks wonderful! So pleased that some parts stay truthfully historical too 😁. Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of it until I just happened across it. The direction they went with it is fun. :)
DeleteI am intrigued. I will watch this once I catch up on everyone tonight.
ReplyDeleteI would have been by sooner, but I have been busy working on my lawn mower, at least until it got dark. Then I ate a bite and promptly fell asleep. I am STILL not sure I got it fixed, though.
Yard maintenance is something I don't miss now that we're in a townhouse. I can't imagine being able to repair my own mower! Super Woman!
DeleteThanks for mentioning this TV series. Jules Verne had great stories. This show looks interesting. (I'm going to create a blog post with a link to all of the episodes, so I can watch them in order.)
ReplyDeleteI find David Warner impossible to resist lol, but the idea that the stories were based on his actual life was fascinating.
