Siddhartha
Siddhartha is a 1972 film based on the Hermann Hesse novel by the same name. Beautiful. Peaceful. Inspiring. I loved this movie. I also love the book, which can be read online here. I can highly recommend both the movie and the book as well worth your time.

I had to read the book in high school. Didn't like it. Maybe I wasn't old enough to appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThat's when I first read it, but I was interested in eastern religions and Hesse at the time, so it was a win for me all the way around.
DeleteI have read the book a few times. But not for many years. I am curious about the film. I will check it out later. Of course the book is a classic and sometimes it is hard to portray a book into an equally good film. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

I hadn't realized it could be read online in English. There's another film adaptation, but I haven't seen it.
