Memphis Botanic Gardens

This is a photo-heavy post, so join me for a cuppa as you scroll down the page,

and then come with me to the weekly T party over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's Altered Book Lover blog.

I missed the height of daffodil season, but there were still nice drifts of them when I went out to the Memphis Botanic Gardens a couple of weeks ago:

Can you see the turtles sunning themselves below?

There was a sculpture exhibit Origami in the Garden, "These 20 museum quality, fine art, outdoor and indoor, metal sculptures will be displayed throughout our 31 specialty gardens":

  1. Ah the daffodils - I cannot wait for ours to start, I resolve not to miss the great parks displays this year. That was a lot of turtles & wow to the size of some of them - I counted 13 on the rock.

  3. Your cup is very pretty. The daffodils at the Botanic Garden are gorgeous. Still another month or so before the daffs bloom in my yard. The origami sculptures are awesome! That would be a cool idea for my Zensical garden. another fine crop of ATCs. The Take 3, 3rd time's a charm made me smile. Happy T Day

  7. Your Bow Tie ATC made me giggle with the silly tie and the expression on his face. the Soul of a City is very cool. You're so good at ATCs! If the T-ladies decide to exchange ATCs this year, I sure hope you'll join in. I'd love to have one of yours in my collection.

The origami sculpture exhibit is fabulous. Thanks for sharing that.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

  10. What a fun photo packed art inspired post today. I love seeing the daffodils, but the origami was out of this world. My favorite might be the squirrel and the acorn. The way it was displayed was magical. I also liked the one with the scissors, although they were all unique.

I think my favorite ATC this week is bow tie, but they are all so much fun to see. Thanks for sharing your trip to the Memphis Botanical Gardens, the daffs, the origami, your ATCs, and your beautiful cup filled with coffee with us for T this Tuesday. It was an incredible day!

  21. I think I just realized you were from Memphis! We lived there a couple of years back when our son was born there; and he is 49 now! LOL We loved it there! I don't remember the Botanical Gardens, but I remember the Zoo and parks. Love those turtles sunning themselves. What a great photo. Sorry I am so late. Have a great week-end!

    1. You'd recognize the gardens by the name "Goldsmith Civic Garden Center" maybe. It's changed a lot, and they've fenced off the Botanic Gardens from the rest of Audubon Park so that now you have to pay an admission fee for the gardens. It's good to see a fellow (former) Memphian :)
