The Birds is a 1963 Alfred Hitchcock horror film. It stars Rod Taylor, Tippi Hedren, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette, and Veronica Cartwright. A classic, I have this on DVD and re-watch it every year or so.
Hitchcock was such a fabulous creative movie maker. However, I like some of his others better than this one, especially "North by Northwest" and both the original AND the remake of "The Man Who Knew too Much."
I've been watching some Hitchcock films this month, and I almost watched the Birds today. I went for the Man Who Knew Too Much instead. I've got a couple more I want to see or rewatch, including the Birds. Hope you don't lose power.
Did you know there is a The Simpsons-episode on this where they use dolphins?
OH! How happy to have their feathers plugged out!!! Help!!! Thank you for the laugh (he is right, though!). Now I feel bad about the eggs in my fridge? This was truly interesting, thank you, I never knew!!! Guest of honor! Ohhhh!!! Oh, I haven´t seen this movie for a loooong time, but our ravens in the morning as as mad!
I remember when we made the kids watch "The Birds" with us. Growing up with lots of special effects movies they were saying "this isn't a scary movie!" But they stuck with it (I think they were about 9 and 11) and pretty soon their heads were under the covers and they were definitely a little freaked out! I LOVE Hitchcock! My favorite is "Rear Window."
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...I loved Hitchcock's dry dialog.
ReplyDeleteHE was such a card lol His intros are as good as the movies. It's no wonder his TV show did well.

I like both "knew too much" films, too. He was a genius.
DeleteOne of Hitch’s best. I scared the daylights out of the Young One when she watched it 😺
ReplyDeleteI knew someone who was afraid of caged birds from then on. She never did get over it.

ReplyDeleteYes, he had a good balance, I think.
DeleteI have to admit I love Hitchcock movies. Loved his TV show, too. :)

Oddly enough, I've never seen a Simpsons episode. I'd love to get ravens. We have crows nearby but never on the patio.
