Tea Steeping

This article says you should steep tea different amounts of time depending on your goal. To sum up:

IF YOU DRINK TEA TO BE HEALTHY
Suggested steeping time: 2 minutes, 30 seconds to 5 minutes
*******
IF YOU DRINK TEA FOR THE CAFFEINE BOOST
Suggested steeping time: 3 to 5 minutes
*******
IF YOU DRINK TEA BECAUSE IT TASTES GOOD
Suggested steeping time: 1 to 3 minutes
*******

I steep my tea, whether loose or bagged, for 3 minutes. It looks like I have my bases covered!

I think I'll take my tea out on the patio and sit in that rusty chair:

Join me? We might see a hummingbird at that red Pentas plant.

I'd invite you to come to the weekly Tea Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth. All are warmly welcomed. Visit the links to check us out, or just jump right in, sharing a drink-related post.

  7. I ADORE your back patio and would give anything if mine looked 1/100th as beautiful. I would gladly join you for tea or even coffee.

When I make tea, whether bags or loose leaf, I leave them in the pot. Once the pot gets cold, I remove the tea and put it in my compost or around my plants. Although my grandmother was a coffee drinker, she also had tea every afternoon. She was a stickler for timing, and would be appalled how I drink mine. Thanks for sharing these tidbits of tea steeping information with us for T this Tuesday. Worthwhile information, especially for tea connoisseurs.

  9. What a lovely patio. I now have a patio too, but have not put much in it yet. A few geraniums in the window sill, that's all and two jasmins. We plan on going to the garden centre this week and get a few more plants and pots. Watch this space.
Interesting about tea steeping. I just bung a tea bag in the pot and drink it. The first cup will be weaker than the later cups. If anything is left in the pot, it goes in a bottle in the fridge and I drink it as cold tea.
Thank you for sharing your cozy spot.
    Enjoy your 4th July holiday,
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  11. I love watching for hummingbirds outside my office door. When I see one (or more) I take a break and just breathe - watching them zoom about.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
