Jungle Jim
Jungle Jim (1948) is the first film in a series starring Johnny Weissmuller about an African adventurer. These are wonderful! And a perfect vehicle for a slightly older Weismuller who had acted his way beyond the near-naked Tarzan films. George Reeves is the bad guy in this one. I was a serious fan of these films and the TV series based on the same character when I was in elementary school and could watch them on television.

I don't know if I've seen these. I need to check them out. It must have been fun to live in a time when movies were a lot cheaper to go to and a Saturday with all the features was the thing to do.Happy Monday. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI saw these on television, and it was such a treat to have movies right there in front of the couch lol Movies are so expensive to go out to!
DeleteI don't know if I've seen these. Thank goodness for YouTube
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't see these show up on the oldies tv channel.
DeleteI've never even heard of this film OR the series, but I know you are a big fan of Weismuller.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree about the cost of films today. First run films are out of sight, and IMAX films are even worse. I'm so glad I don't have the urge to see most films today.
I was pleased he was able to continue his career after he was too old to be Tarzan. The Jungle Jim character was such a good fit.
DeleteWe rarely go out to movies. We have a stack of DVDs we picked up cheap used, and we're working our way through those.
