    1. I love watching movies. One of the reasons I started blogging was to try to keep up with books and movies. It's working so far ;)

  2. I've seen a few of these films myself but never thought of them as Film Noir-except maybe Cape Fear. But actually I haven't seen most of them, as usual. However, I used to watch tons of old movies s a teenager when we had about 3 tv channels and there wasn't cable so I so lots of oldies. It was a good way to past a dull Sunday or saturday afternoon. Speaking of weekends-hope yours is a good one.Hugs-Erika

  4. You are so good at keeping your film lists up to date 😁. I've only seen a few of these including Cape Fear, I also seem to remember a remake of this film with Robert De Niro too. It had such a great storyline like many of the old films ...anyhow, I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and have a lovely weekend! J 😊

    1. I haven't seen the remake. When the original holds up well I don't understand why they remake the older films. And I love Robert Mitchum :) It's sunny today, yayeeee!

  5. Apparently, I'm not the film buff you are, because only a few of these movie titles sound familiar.

  6. I think I have seen almost every one of these from the 40s and half the ones from the 50s (and both Cape Fears). Mostly because I watched every matinee movie they played in the afternoons and all the evening oldies, too, when I was a kid in Minneapolis. They were all in black and white--probably cheaper for the station to buy the rights to show them.

I remember sneaking into the basement to watch Two Women with Sophia Loren when I was maybe thirteen. They were playing it late at night after prime time, had warnings not to let children watch it (a real rarity--which got so much flack I don't think they repeated their dip into R rated movies!), my folks forbade it, so of course I snuck quietly downstairs and watched it...sitting in front of the big old B&W console TV with the sound turned really low...so close it was like being at a movie theater. Have you ever seen that movie?

I LOVED movies..and TV in general. Still do. :) :)

    1. Gotta love those old b&w movies! All movies, really ;)

I hadn't heard of that Sophia Loren film, but reading the plot summary on Wikipedia tells me why they warned against letting children see it. War leaves few innocents in its wake :(
