March for Our Lives
Two days ago I participated in the Memphis march that was part of March for Our Lives. The main rally was in Washington, D.C., but there were sister marches all over the country. The one in Memphis began at Clayborn Temple and ended in a rally in the plaza in front of the Civil Rights Museum.
This is a screen shot with me in it taken from a video taken along the march:
I took a couple of photos in the plaza:
I know people are enthusiastic and hopeful, but when we watched six year old children die and did nothing I knew nothing would ever be done. But that won't stop me from supporting those working for change.
I took this photo on my way back to the river where I had parked:

I applaud all those that marched & participated. Time for change. There was a big march & rally out side the US consulate in Toronto (I did not attend) & in church this Sunday the minister talked about the marches as part of our social justice prayer ... & the little children shall lead them.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely time for change. I will support these young people as they move into positions of influence. I'm tired of the NRA-driven gun fetishism.
DeleteNothing changes if nothing changes! Well done on walking for the good thing!
ReplyDeleteThx! I'm glad I went. :)
DeleteSo inspirational and well done for joining the march 😁. Thanks for sharing and wishing you a wonderful new week! J 😊
ReplyDeleteThe young people who organized this did a great job. I am proud to have been a part of it :)
DeleteGlad to see that there was a big crowd and that's lots of young people participated. I had things going on and didn't get to participate in the one closest to me (an hour away), but it was such a great connector of people all over, wasn't it? Good for you for joining in! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard a final number for our march, but there was a good crowd. I'm glad I had one so close :)
DeleteSo glad you were able to participate in the march!!! These marches give us hope. :)
ReplyDeleteAt least these young people can see they have support across the country. That's why I wanted to participate.
DeleteHow in the world did I miss this? I didn't even know about the march. I feel like I've had my head in the sand! It looks like a really good turnout and lots of support for this cause.
ReplyDeleteThis was important to me both for the cause and to support this youth-driven movement.
DeleteIt's so wonderful to see the support these marches got! Well done you for taking part in this important cause!
