Sirloin Stockade
On our way north on our recent vacation trip, we stopped in Murray, KY, for lunch. The Sirloin Stockade had a line out the door, but we didn't have to wait long to reach the order counter and were seated immediately after that. You can tell this place is hugely popular with folks in that area, and they've found a system that works to serve. They are efficient! They have a nicely-priced selection. I got the small steak:
and unsweetened iced tea. You can see The Younger Son's burger in the background of the photo. I couldn't get a photo of the interior because it was packed the entire time we were there. Our food was tasty, and we'd come back if we were locals. Eating at places we don't have in Memphis is part of what makes these little trips fun for us.
Please join the other tea (or whatever) drinkers for the weekly gathering at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog. A warm welcome awaits you there.

It IS especially a nice vacation when you find such good eating spots as this-keeps everyone full, and happy. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThey cow is super and the lunch looks yummie there!!! Good that I had dinner already - otherwise my mouth would water now!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day!
It's always good to find somewhere that serves the food you like when you are somewhere new! I don't think I would be happy though, if all they serve is beef! It Looks as though you got a good plateful! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThey had a salad bar to die for, and a full menu. We just always get beef when we go to a steak place.
DeleteYum! nothing like a really good steak!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day
What a great name for a restaurant, that cow outside is fun. Your meal looked delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday.

You know a restaurant is good if it's so busy, sounds like you had a fab time! Really like the look of that baked potato and sour cream too! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)
ReplyDeletep.s. I made chicken quesadillas last week after seeing your post, we decided to serve it with homemade refried beens, guacamole, sweetcorn rice and green salad - delicious :-)
ooo your meal sounds tasty. I've never made quesadillas. I should try it!
DeleteWhat a find! That looks really yummy. And the steak is not too huge (I hate wasting food). Your (I assume) jacket potatoe with sour cream looks very inviting too. I have several restaurants marked on the map from where we traveled, so I can remember where it was we had 'that nice meal'.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday,
Lisca
I love the big steer in your first photo. :) He's fun and really sets the feel for this restaurant. The steak looks good too. I bet it was a good meal. Hope it was a happy T day! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteit Looks mouth watering, though it is only breakfast time here;)
ReplyDeletehappy belated t-day!
Yum! That giant cow statue is funny too. There is a black angus one about 45 minutes south of my house at a truck stop...not quite that big though.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
Their sign and 4 legged statue is a draw I'm sure. Part of the fun if a road trip is trying new eateries. Looks like you scored at this one.
ReplyDeleteI sincerely apologize for not visiting sooner. My internet/phone problem took the wrong time to go offline again. Even the serviceman is confused. Before he could leave, thinking all was well, it went out again. Right now I'm at Sally's and this has to be quite quick.
ReplyDeleteWe had these in southern MO, and I think there used to be one in Wichita. BUT, ours, or at least the one in Carthage, MO was a buffet.
Thanks for sharing this and bringing back memories for T this week. Again, so sorry I'm late visiting.
This one definitely has a buffet. In fact, most everybody was ordering the buffet, and the waitress was surprised we hadn't. I think that's their big draw, but we just wanted food brought to us ;)
