Jim's Place

We hadn't eaten at Jim's Place (warning: their website has auto-playing music, yuck!) since they moved into their current Poplar/Perkins location, so we decided to have lunch there on Valentine's Day. I didn't take pictures inside -well, it's a nice place and it didn't seem appropriate somehow. The plate itself was a bit messy and presentation wasn't really pretty enough to give a good impression of the restaurant anyway, so it's just as well.

It tasted wonderful, though. The Husband and I each got the ribeye steak, which came with 2 sides. He got green beans (too heavy on the onion to suit him) and hash browns. I got the squash/zucchini in tomato sauce and rice. Except for his green beans, we ate everything. Generous serving sizes, yes, but not too much to eat. Perfect! We ordered the steaks medium-well, and they came quite medium, with lots of red inside, but we still enjoyed it. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive.

Their lunch menu is online here. We would definitely go again for a special lunch.

Including tax but not tip, out total was almost $46.

The Urban Spoon has a 90% aggregate score. Reviews at Yelp are almost all positive.
