National Fill-In-The-Blank Month

February is the month set aside to give attention to some serious issues. It's Black History Month and American Heart Month, for example. But it's also Great American Pie Month and National Cherry Pie Month and National Hot Breakfast Month, so I'll be eating hot cherry pie for breakfast while I research some of the more serious issues. I enjoy following the bunny trails as I look up topics and follow links. Please join the weekly T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth.

To be honest, I think there are so many things each month is dedicated to that it defeats the purpose of having a month dedicated to something. NationalDayCalendar.com lists these:

  1. I thought Black History Month was International, not just National. I see Canada recognizes it, but it should be celebrated worldwide. The African/American community alone has had a rough time finding their proper place in "our" society and our Pres hasn't helped matters any.

I like your cherry pie and coffee that you will be sharing with us for breakfast T today. I especially like the Scream mug. It is adorable.

Not sure you are home, so I will link you to T!

    1. Britain also observes it, I think. Maybe other countries have a different way or time of highlighting this history. I'm home, but thanks for linking me :)

  12. Wow! Someone has a lot of time on their hands to come up with all these dedications. I totally agree with you that it defeats the purpose of being special if there is that many 'specials'. Have to laugh at the National Condom and Laugh-friendly Month. Really? Who comes up with these? Very entertaining list though. Thanks for sharing.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  14. I had fun Reading through these month dedications, and smiled at 'spunky old broad' month and 'return your shopping trolley to the supermarket' month. Here is Europe you have to put money in a trolley to be able to use it, so most people will return it.
Your pie looks delicious and I love your Edvard Munch mug.
    Belated happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  16. Hot cherry pie for breakfast sounds good to me, D! The lists are ridiculous. National Snack Food Month, Canned Food Month and Bird Feeding Month strike me as especially strange. So we shouldn't feed the birds any other months? I'm in for National Chocolate Month and Craft Month, though ;-)

    Happy T-day! Eileen

  18. Wow! So amazing what has a month dedicated to it! I can’t believe that An Affair To Remember has a month! I guess because they were to meet on top of the Empire State Building on Calentines Day. Then, Sleepless in Seattle s/b celebrated in February, also! Happy belated T-Day!
