by Sergei Vinogradov, who was born on July 1, 1869, and who died of pneumonia on February 5, 1938.
This is a tempting view. Where I am it's a cold, dreary February day, and a warm sea-side terrace like that pictured in this painting would suit me well right now. Where that lady is having a cooling drink and wearing a summer hat, I'm drinking a hot cup of tea and wearing a warm scarf. Summer can't get here soon enough to suit me. Unless there's a bit of snow. That would be a treat.
You can see more of his work here and here:

What a relaxing place your Blog is! I, too am having a cup of hot tea, Earl. Grey! Although I am still watching the paintings and listening, I will wish you a Happy T Day!

I realize I'm late visiting. I was up all night and slept in today. I enjoyed learning more about Sergei Vinogradov and seeing so many of his paintings. They are all beautiful and I really enjoyed the one you chose to share with us for T this Tuesday. Also, thanks for introducing me to Sergei Vinogradov, an artist I had never heard of until today!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful painting, I could have done with seeing that beautiful view today, as here we have had falling snow.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.

i would love to join the young woman on the terrace. Her view is a lot nicer than the surprise snow squall that blew through earlier today. Stay warm

ReplyDeleteI'll join you in the painting too ♥ It's cold and windy here today and I'm all bundled up with hot tea also. Feeling like I've drank an ocean of hot tea lately. :-/ The painting is lovely and so are his other works. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by my blog!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Vinogradov is one excellent painter. He had some talent. I liked so many of his pieces. But did I know about him before, nope. And I agree, that painting you showed us sure is tempting since they say we are going to get a whole lot of snow tomorrow. I am ready for spring right now. Happy late T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI think everyone of us is longing to be on a sunny terrace now. I'm looking at my terrace here and it is sunny. But the temperature is only just above freezing point. Too cold! Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing me to a new (to me) painter. I like his paintings. He died of pneumonia. Back in the days without antibiotics, people died of these things.
Happy belated T-day,
Lisca
Thanks for sharing this beautiful painting! Who wouldn't love a stunning view like that!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so late, D, ... busy week. Lovely painting. I agree - it looks especially lovely this time of year.
