They have a nest on the patio next door, and this sparrow makes noise from dawn 'til setting sun. I can't see the nest and don't know at what stage the eggs are, but I do know this bird keeps a close watch on us. That spot on the fence just under the downspout is his favorite perch.

Two years ago some robins built a nest right outside our backdoor. The nest was at a height where we could look in on the eggs by just stretching our necks a little. At first Momma bird squawked like crazy every time we went out. After a while it seemed to get used to us and realized we meant no harm. It was really neat to watch their progress as the babies grew and flew away.
I have a friend who is posting daily photos on Facebook of a robins' nest on her front porch. They built in a flower pot and are very accessible for pictures. It is fun to see.
