Solo
Solo: A Star Wars Story is a 2018 film. I hadn't really expected to like this, but I loved it. Perfect casting, a wonderful story... I'm surprised there wasn't a sequel. I can recommend it as an enjoyable back story that stays true to the characters. We watched it during our free time at Disney+.

...I'm a solo kind of person.
ReplyDeleteThese days that's an advantage :)
DeleteDeep sigh. Not a fan of Star Wars. Now, another Star Trek movie and I'd make the popcorn
ReplyDeleteI like _some_ Star Wars movies in the same way I like only some of Star Trek.
DeleteI saw this in the theater and then a couple of times on Disney+. It is a good film. I'm with you! Definitely worth the watch!
ReplyDeleteI was actually surprised by how good a job they did with the characters and the plot. I'd watch it again :)
DeleteI saw this one--was pretty good. So many Star Wars movies. I think one day I should watch them in chronological order and I'd be less confused--LOL! Loved the first movie--which is what the 4th or 5th? ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, the 4th, 5th, and 6th were the first ones released. Cultural treasures, the 3 of them. 1, 2, and 3 (the prequels) are the first chronologically but disastrous imo as entertainment and as being true to the spirit of the originals.
DeleteGosh, I haven't even heard of this. I would enjoy it I think. To comment on CJ's message, Star Trek MOVIES never turned me on. I didn't ever watch TOS and only got into the newer trek tv shows a bit. However, I loved the original three Star Wars movies that came out in the 80s. The rest were OK, but not my favorite by any means.
ReplyDeleteI was a fan of TOS. I loved some of the Star Trek movies. The Next Generation is my least favorite of the trek tv series so far, although as I get deeper into the new Picard series that could change ;)
DeleteI liked it too. I wish they had continued with the series.
ReplyDeleteYes! The had casting perfect and great back story true to the characters later development.
DeleteI love the first Star Wars movies but never really got into watching the sequels! Sounds like I should give this one a try though, thanks for the recommendation 😀. Happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThe first ones released were the best! Those prequels that are now numbered as 1, 2, 3 are hideous. They have a lot to answer for :( I pretend they don't exist ;)
DeleteMy friend's son (and a former student worker of mine back in the day) worked on this, so I feel a sense of second-degree connection to this one! I'm glad you enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteCool! I really did love it. The cast is perfect and they were true to canon, unlike that despicable prequel trilogy.
DeleteI've not seen it, but our sons really like it ...
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I wasn't really expecting much but am glad I watched it.
