Today is the anniversary of the death in 1983 of Muddy Waters at the age of 70. In declining health, he died of heart failure in his sleep at his home. He was born near Clarksdale, Mississippi, which is about 1 1/2 hours southwest of Memphis.

Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
My friend Joseph Peck, the musician, introduced me to Muddy Waters and the blues. Wonderful homage to a man who could put his soul into his music.
ReplyDeleteHe's a master, and lived long enough to have a major influence.
