Have a drink with Axel Revold
This is by Axel Revold, a Norwegian painter who died on April 11, 1962. This spot doesn't seem like the most welcoming setting for a woman alone, but maybe if we met there as a group we could friendly the joint up a bit?
You can see more of his work here.
Please join the weekly blogger gathering hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth. You can share a virtual drink with us without braving the men's-only bar.

I'm happy to join you for a drink at the bar and with the friendly peeps over at T Stands for Tuesday in attendance, its transformation would be complete 😀. Wishing you a Happy T Tuesday! J 😊 x
ReplyDeletei loved the painting. it looks to me like she is enjoying a margarita so I would gladly join her (smiles)
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day Kathy

ReplyDeleteHugs, Susi
i´d definitely join you there! and i think in norway you could even go there alone, at least nowadays:)
ReplyDeletehappy t-day!
I'll be there with you- for a glass of wine:) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go there alone, but with some friends it would be fun. Great painting! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteMaybe she's waiting for her beau, or her girlfriends. Maybe she got stood up. What stories we could make up! Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteIt is a great painting. The men seem quite comfortable in the bar as friends should be.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.

Another new artist for me, D. I can't think who this piece reminds me of. Van Gogh? The scene looks a bit creepy to me. Yes, she needs some girlfriends or even a boyfriend to "friendly up" the place. I see from your link that his other works are not so dark. You're such of font of art information. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
Reading all these comments I realize that I identified all the bar patrons as male while some commenters are seeing the figure at the table as female. Interpreting art shows me what different stories we see!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like a cheery place to sit and have a drink, but maybe there is a corner with a window and we ladies can all sit and enjoy some chit chat. It is great to discover a new artist, at least new to me. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day! Love the painting.

I had planned to be here sooner, but my keyboard had other plans. I have never see the art of Axel Revold before, but I like his art. His style reminds me of Edouard Manet. I would love to meet up in this place with other T Tuesday participants. It is a wonderful idea and would make a great get together. Thanks for sharing a new to me artist for T this Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteas someone said it does look like a margarita.. and if it is serve me up one too.. I'll just go pop over and look at some of his art. Thanks Divers for introducing me to a new artist. Happy T day hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI assumed it was a man, too. I guess it could be a woman. Either way the other three know each other and the one person is alone. :)
ReplyDeleteI can see a little bit of sinister aspect of those three men observing the woman...not familiar with this artist, thanks for the share! His paintings remind me a bit of Cezanne in the handling of the shapes. Happy T day...very late!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the story is here! Maybe one of the men was with her and went to talk to his friends! Belated Happy T day Chrisx
ReplyDeleteLooks like a dicey tavern too me but a group could change it up. I peaked at some of his other works and it's very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI am so late getting around this week... the sun is shining so you know where I have been :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Very Late Tuesday!
