by Aimee Mann.
Lyrics excerpt:
Well, today a friend told me this sorry tale
As he stood there trembling and turning pale
He said each day's harder to get on the scale
Sort of like Jacob Marley's chain
But it's not like life's such a vale of tears
It's just full of thoughts that act as souvenirs
For those tiny blunders made in yesteryear
That comprise Jacob Marley's chain
Now that is a sad song!
ReplyDeleteYes, There should be a place for it in one of the Christmas Carol adaptations. Or maybe even an adaptation made just to feature this song. It really gets the point.
DeleteLove Aimee Mann, and really like this song. Favourite used to be Pavlov's Bell - it was featured on Buffy.
ReplyDeletegoogling Pavlov's Bell... ;) I liked Buffy but am not remembering the song
Deletefound it :) https://youtu.be/VPkR7VEffDQ
DeleteIt's at a funny moment. The band is playing at the local pub when some vamp-scuffle happens, and Aimee comments that she's tired of playing in vampire towns.
DeleteI remembered the episode once I looked it up. Odd that I hadn't realized the singer in the show was a singer in real life. I liked Buffy and Angel both.
