Obi
The Daughter and her husband took a little trip recently, and I got to dog sit Obi. We went for a few little walks in the neighborhood and saw the statue at Marquette Park:
a Little Free Library on a side street:
and some refreshing greenery at Audubon Park Lake:
I had thought she'd be interested in a swim, but she was not:
I tried to make sure she felt at ease, but I know she was happy to get back to her home and family.

You are a good dog sitter getting out for a walk and all. There is a similar "free library" in our neighborhood. I've stopped and looked a few times but never used it. I feel like I should leave a book if I take one and I never remember to take a book when I go walking.
ReplyDeleteThat's my only problem with the little free libraries, that I never have a book to trade when I see them and I hate taking one without leaving one. I love the concept, though.
DeleteObi is so cute. Sounds like she must have had good visit with you. All those nice dog walks. I'm sure Obi was glad to see the pack return, but I doubt she was miserable. I had a dog once named Winnie. When my in-laws baby sat her one weekend when we went away she sat and stared up the driveway until it got dark. Then she went inside, slept, got up in the morning and repeated the staring up the driveway. Glad Obi didn't do that. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie :) I put her crate by the patio door so she could watch the gate ;) Obi is a pretty ssocial girl, so that made it easier.
DeleteObi sounds like a good walking companion. Sounds like she wasn't interested in getting wet, though. That may have been a good thing for you with her long hair. It would have taken awhile to comb it out after she got wet.
ReplyDeleteThere are two Little Free Libraries in my neighborhood. I've tried to convince Sally to bring her no longer read books to one of them, but the big problem is, she has a stamp with her name and address on it that she stamps on everything. And not just one page, but front, back, title, and several inner pages. She was shocked when I showed her how many times she did it when she was getting rid of some old books. It's hard to give them away when there's so much proof of ownership.
I thought it might be cooling for Obi, but she wasn't impressed by the idea.
DeleteWow! That's a lot of claiming notices! lol I don't put my name in any of my books. It does make it easier to donate them.
What a nice walk! Love those little free libraries. What a fantastic idea! Obi is such a pretty dog. Only certain dogs like to go in the water and I think you're lucky she wasn't one of them--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter tells me Obi likes rolling around in mud! lol I'm glad I didn't find that out while I had her ;)
