Geocaching in Memphis
Walking in a local park recently, I stumbled across quite a treasure:
I've been interested in geocaching for a long time, ever since I first heard of it; but I've never had a "smart" phone, and my only gps device is plugged into my car's cigarette lighter and has a battery life of about a minute and a half. It never occurred to me I'd come across a cache by accident. What fun!

What fun! I've heard of geocaching but never tired it and certainly never found anything. Are you going to participate now?

I still lack the gps device, but I thought I'd look up locations of caches and see if I can find a few just by looking in those places. If I like it enough I'll look into getting the gps device. It was a delight to happen across this.
DeleteWhat an incredible find. I suspect there are a few near or in Memphis, since you found one by accident. Even if you don't have the GPS device you need, you can still look for them on the internet based on other geocached locations. I bet this is something you and your daughter would enjoy together, too.
ReplyDeleteTheir locations are published online, and I can map the general location, but some of them are tiny, film canister-sized. I hope I can find some of them.
