a 1971 song written by Ray Davies and sung by The Kinks.
Lyrics excerpt:
Chorus:
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea,
Have a cuppa tea, have a cuppa tea,
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, Rosie Lea
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, Rosie Lea.
Whatever the situation, whatever the race or creed,
Tea knows no segregation, no class or pedigree
It knows no motivations, no sect or organisation,
It knows no one religion,
Nor political belief.
[Chorus]
Please join the gathering over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog, where they'll be sharing something T(ea) or drink related.
What a rousing way to celebrate T this Tuesday. I like the lyrics, and agree that tea can be shared across both class and country. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy to know that back in the 70s, people were trying to get rid of lines and boundaries. Too bad we can't go back to "those days."
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this wonderful T entry with us this Tuesday.I certainly enjoyed the positive and uplifting words that can be shared with tea.
Maybe we can have a sing-along over at Elizabeths :-)
