by Junior Parker, who died 43 years ago tomorrow at the age of 39 during surgery for a brain tumor. This was recorded at Sun Studio in Memphis in 1953. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001.

DeleteI feel like a dork. I had NO idea Sun Records was located in Memphis. I was really impressed with the record player, and of course, the music.
ReplyDeleteHow sad for Junior Parker. Just goes to show, I bet he would have lived if he'd had that operation today.
Mother had old 78s around when we were little, and old record players used to be able to play them. We had some actual record "albums" that were bound volumes with sleeves the 78s fit in.
