I don't understand why some people are getting age-restricted notices on this YouTube video.
When I click on it, it plays.
When I click on it at the YouTube site, it plays.
Rodan is a 1956 Japanese monster movie, a Toho Studio film directed by Ishirō Honda. This was Toho's first kaiju film to be shot in color. George Takei did some of the English-language dubbing.

Here's a screenshot of a man involved in a discussion of global warming:
Global warming ain't a new idea, folks. We've always known... Please share your own drink-related post and join me at the T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering.
Dire warnings & we still seem to think the next generations woe to solve. I wonder in the upcoming climate summit what will be discussed, recommended without an actual action plan & who will congratulate themselves on their boasting of change. In the first months of the pandemic we saw with our own eyes how quickly the environment could begin to recover when we stopped. Alas no lessons learnt, no heart to stay the course :(
ReplyDelete...another one that I missed.
ReplyDeleteI love all the Japanese kaiju movies.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that the term global warming went back as far as 1956 (or probably before).
ReplyDeleteI think the term wasn't used 'til the 1980s in an Al Gore interview, but the concept was known.
DeleteWow. This is age restricted!
ReplyDeleteOdd. When I click on it the video just starts playing.
DeleteFor years I thought global warming was cyclical. Now I know better. It might have been cyclical in the early 20th century, but in the late 20th and 21st, it is real and NOT getting better. I've been reading that even 3 degrees warming of the coastal waters can increase the magnitude of a hurricane. THREE DEGREES! So glad a few people are trying to slow and hopefully reverse the effects of global warming.
ReplyDeleteNice screen capture. Great for T Tuesday, too. Thanks for sharing this film and the screen capture of the man drinking for T this Tuesday, dear friend.
Climate change is cyclical over long periods. The terms are related, and I'm not sure I understand what all is included in the differences between them...
Deleteoh age restricted and not available in my country, bummer, sounded good. Love George too. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
ReplyDeleteIt's not age-restricted for me, so I'm not understanding that at all :(
DeleteSounds like a great Sci-fi movie 😊. Wasn't Ishirō Honda famous for directing Godzilla? Happy T Tuesday! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteYes, he also had an uncredited bit part in Godzilla, which I think is great fun :)
DeleteAccording to History.com: "The term “global warming” appears for the first time in print on August 8, 1975, with the publication of Wallace Smith Broecker's paper 'Climatic Change: Are We on the Brink of a Pronounced Global Warming?' in the journal Science." Previously-- as early as the 19th century -- scientists had warned that greenhouse gases from industry and transportation were threatening the planet.
ReplyDeleteIntriguing film!
best... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks!
DeleteThe world changes, always did. We will have to adapt (I can´t see the video, my browser thinks I´m too young.... the world also goes crazier. Can I have a beer, please?)
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if this is some kind of browser setting. I don't get get any kind of age restriction notice.
DeleteRodan was/is one of my favorite movies.
ReplyDeleteAnother genre of movies that I haven't heard of. Sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
You do find the most interesting films to watch. It's great to see what the rest of the world is thinking about, including global warming which I can't believe some people are still denying. All you have to do is look at Florida and the Carolinas. Hope it was a great T day Nita.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of monster movies, so I'll pass on this one.
ReplyDeleteI love these movies - so fun and so well done for their time. I didn't believe the global warming thing for many years, but I totally had a mental breakthrough a few years ago. I am a believer now. The odds of increased hurricanes and the like are especially scary and the recent hurricane should scare us all. The problem is that we have to rely on politians to do something to solve it when there are just too many pressing issues and agendas grabbing their attention. I don't think we want Mother Nature to solve this problem for us.....and she will if we don't.... Happy T-day and hugz
ReplyDeleteNot allowed to watch this! Global warming is a worry though. Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
