The Missouri Breaks is a 1976 western film directed by Arthur Penn and starring Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson. Harry Dean Stanton is also in this. John Williams composed the music. I watched it on Amazon Prime.
trailer:
Cinapse calls it " the greatest cult film to never find its cult." Slant Magazine calls it a "big, eccentric film". Rotten Tomatoes has a consensus critics score of 81%.
I don't know the movie. But Jack Nicholson always has such a wonderfully insane look, I love it! ;-DD Happy weekend! Traude https://rostrose.blogspot.com/2022/08/blackout-teil-3-noch-fragen-offen.html
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
...the greatest cult film to never find its cult. Now that's a statement.
ReplyDeleteYes, I got a kick out of that lol

He's fun in this.
DeleteNot a big fan of Jack.
ReplyDeleteHe's able to carry a wide variety of roles, though he's never a particular draw for me.
DeleteI´m not into Western movies, but the quote by Cinapse sounds very great!
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of that quote lol
DeleteI'm really not a western fan. However, since I have Prime, I know I can watch it if the mood strikes me.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a traditional western. I'm not sure if that's a plus or minus for somebody who doesn't tend to watch westerns...
Delete... I'm sure we have watched this film.
ReplyDeleteJack Nicholson has been in some good films.
All the best Jan
