  1. That is quite the title. I don't know this film (no surprise) but I wonder what type of sin they were talking about. Happy Friday!

    1. Sometimes I think film titles are chosen by folks who haven't seen the film ;)

    1. What constitutes sin changes through time, it seems to me

  5. I watched the entire film. Ma Delano was very opinionated, very pushy, got her way all the time, and was the person whose lines I thought were phony at times, and tragic at times. I thought it was OK, but not something I would recommend. Thanks for the link, though.

    1. I recommend it for Cagney's debut (he reprises his stage role) and for being Joan Blondell's 2nd film in the 1st year of her film career (They went on to do other films together but this was the 1st) and for the relatively short/concise story-telling. Anyway, that's why I watched it :)

  6. Cagney looks and sounds so young!!
For his first film he got pretty high billing, I must say. :)

    1. Sweet, right? It was a stage play, and you can see him with more of a stage style than he displays later in his film career.

  8. It's fun seeing old classic film stars in their first roll. Recently I was watching something on Acorn where the woman who played Mrs. Crawley on Downton was about 20 or 25! (1977) I kept looking at her thinking I had an idea of her face -- I KNOW her! Then I looked at the credits and knew right away!

    1. I love watching these shows and knowing the actors from shows years ago. "I know her!" that's what we call out :)
