Hotel Artemis is a 2018 dystopian thriller film I saw on Amazon Prime. I didn't expect much from this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. I can recommend it if you like this genre. Great fun! It stars Jodie Foster, Jeff Goldblum, Zachary Quinto, and Dave Bautista.
trailer:
Reviews were mixed, but this ain't everybody's cuppa tea, after all. Give it a chance.
I've seen the trailer but haven't watched this. We watched the Chair on netflix last week (funny) and also started Impeachment on FX-the Monica Lewinsky Bill Clinton scandal show. 2 episodes are out and it is very well done. I'd forgotten lots of details about that time, and I must say, Monica Lewinsky is at least protrayed as someone very very young and naive. Happy new week.
I haven't seen The Chair. I still remember The Blue Dress period of our history too well to wanna re-live it on screen ;) Bill Clinton still doesn't seem to understand that the fault for all that was his own. He's a dinosaur, I think.
The trailer makes me want to see this. Sadly, I don't have Prime, but I may be getting a great deal closer to cutting the cord after visiting with Cox today.
We cut the cord and then didn't add anything for a long time. Just over-the-air tv and the DVDs we had on hand. It went well. Then we got Prime free for a while through some promotion. Now we have several paid services, but we're still paying less than cable was.
Because this blog does not consist of a single focus topic I chose the name Divers and Sundry where "Divers" means being of many and various kinds, and "Sundry" means consisting of a haphazard assortment of different kinds.
I like Jodie Foster, but I'm not a dystopian thriller type of person. Dystopian futures and/or time travel just don't capture my imagination.
ReplyDeleteI like dystopian films but not time travel. I avoid time travel unless there's a particular reason to watch a particular film.
DeleteThis looks pretty good.
ReplyDeleteWell, _I_ liked it lol, but I often disagree with real critics.
Delete...too much of life seems dystopian.
ReplyDeleteYes. If only trump would back away...

She's quite a sight in this. I enjoyed her.
DeleteI really like this movie. We own this one.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have local shops with used DVDs, and we spent more than was good for us there lol We miss them now that they're all closed.
DeleteThis sounds good! Some good actors, too. Valerie
