Still Life with Fruit

Still Life with Fruit (1960):

by Jerzy Srzednicki, a Polish artist and poet, who died October 1, 2007, at the age of 77.

I do eat a lot of fruit and was arranging a bowl yesterday to photograph and share here when it came to my attention that yesterday was National Homemade Cookie Day. So I did this instead:

I ate some while being serenaded by one of the members of our resident Chipmunk Horde:

I've been sitting on the patio lately wondering why it's still so hot.

It's never cold here in September and early October, but we're still getting highs in the upper 80s.

  1. Himself was advised to try a Keto diet and so I wouldn't be a short-order cook, I'm following along with him. Keto is no sugar, no carbs. So fruit and especially those delicious peanut butter cookies are off limits. I think the chipmunk was begging for a cookie or two. I'd love to come and sit on your patio and sip some tea though with your warm temps. maybe iced tea. Happy T Day

  4. The still life is beautiful and from an artist I've never heard of before. Your cookies look wonderful. It's been forever since I've made peanut butter cookies and yours look SO tempting. Thanks for sharing the still live, your yummy looking cookies, and your drink with us for T this Tuesday.

It's even warmer where I live. Yesterday it was 92 F here and tomorrow (Wednesday) it's supposed to be in the mid to high 90s F. I'm SO ready for autumn to arrive.

  10. I do like fresh fruit, but cookies would win me over any time & everytime & a nice mug of tea. It's really such a mixed bag of weather up & down in temperatures. My friends in Calgary Alberta got 20 cm of snow - almost 8" today! I'm not going to complain too loudly. After a few minutes that chipmunk warning chirp gets annoying for me ... could be I need another cookie (col).

  15. I am really getting to the last of T posts. But I did want to get by, and I am glad you did. I eat a lot of fruit too but those cookies look yummy. Are they peanut butter? My favorite. Those chipmunks are something else-if they are like mine that is-and I image they are. I hope it was a good one. Hugs-Erika

  16. Sorry to be so late, D. We just got back from vacation and I'm playing catch-up.

Homemade peanut butter cookies - yum - one of my favorites.

Now I know why they call them "chip"monks. That was so cute!

Belated Happy T-day wishes! Hugs, Eileen
