The Snack Bar (1930):
by Edward Burra, who died on October 22, 1976, at 71 years of age, his health having steadily declined after breaking a hip.
We're not eating out as often these days, not even at snack bars, but I had a birthday recently and was gifted with a bottle of wine:
I had a glass with some lentil soup:
I enjoy soups, especially during the cooler months. I'm ready for Halloween as you can tell by the mug I've chosen for my after-supper coffee.
Please share a drink over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog, where a weekly T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering has already begun. You'd be most welcome to join in.

Not many of those type snack bars left. Love the woman in her cloche and fur trimmed coat. We had lunch with friends the other day and she served lentil soup. Even sent us home with a jar. My lunch for today. I don't have a cool Halloween mug though. Happy Birthday and Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, you find the neatest artists and paintings to share-I love this one.

ReplyDeleteyou must have an incredible knowledge about artists, i always wonder how you find all these paintings.
ReplyDeletehappy t-day and happy halloween:))
Actually, what I do is try to find an artist who died close to the date I want to post, and then I look for a drink-related painting. I learn a lot about art that way, poking around google for information, but I know nothing about art ;)

I LOVE this painting. Never heard of Burra before, but I like that painting. It is quite appropriate for T this Tuesday, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I'm late, but I think I overdid myself Sunday when I took a pseudo hayride out to a pumpkin patch and picked gourds. I got overheated and didn't realize it until I got home and showered to cool down. Now I'm in recovery mode.
I like that Halloween mug. And your soup looks delicious. I am quite fond of soup. And the face of that woman in the Burra painting is priceless. It makes me smile. Hope it was a fantastic T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteGreat painting! Her face is interesting, not really a flattering depiction though. I also love soup during the winter months as it is warm and comforting.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate

Great painting. Your lentil soup looks delicious. Fall weather is perfect soup weather isn't it? We haven't been eating out much either. Sometimes it just seems easier to cook than get out and go somewhere. (We're old people, LOL)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting. I love that style. So Edward Burra is another one to look out for.
ReplyDeleteYour lentil soup looks delicious. I'm having soup too tonight. Home made carrot and coriander soup. I'm salivating already.
Have a lovely belated T-Day,
Lisca
Happy Happy Belated Birthday ... what a nice gift. I like the stemless glass.
