Paid Subscriptions to YouTube channels?

I subscribe to a lot of YouTube channels, all for free, but today I have learned that some channels actually charge a monthly fee. In particular, Roger Corman has a YouTube channel, and it costs $3.99 a month to subscribe.

On the other hand MUBI is $4.99, Hulu Plus is $7.99, Netflix is $7.99 and Amazon Prime is $6.58 ($79 per year).

I don't subscribe to any of them, but if I were to pick one I can't imagine selecting 1 YouTube channel over, oh, say MUBI, which is about the same price.

  1. I enjoy going up to the Blockbuster and picking movies off the shelf. For about 16. dollars a month we can trade out movies as often as we like. It's a little more but I like the fact that I can interact we staff and other people that enjoy movies.

  3. I didn't know you had to subscribe to YouTube channels. No wonder I can't get them to load. And I never thought of Hulu as YouTube, but I sure love it. NOT Hulu Plus, but the free one. After all, I AM the Queen of Free (grin).

    1. no, most youtube channels are free. i hadn't realized any of them required a paid subscription until i ran across the roger corman channel.

i like hulu's free offerings, but there's so much more if you subscribe. right now, though, i'm with you and watching the ones i can get free.
