The Dig

The Dig is a 2021 film based on a true story about the discovery of Sutton Hoo. It stars Ralph Fiennes. These based-on-a-true-story films aren't usually my thing, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I watched it on Netflix.

Roger Ebert's site has a positive review. Rotten Tomatoes has a critics consensus score of 88%.

  1. I have wanted to see this one, alas we don't have Netflix. I am rethinking the gift of Netflix for Christmas!! :)

    1. We get our money's worth out of Netflix. We don't miss cable at all.

    1. Most things seem to have subtitles, but those can be turned off.

  8. I checked what Wikipedia had on this dig that I had never heard of before. It was a fascinating read. I wonder if this film will ever make it to cable TV?

    1. Ah, cable... Do you get any tv at all without it? We get 5 over-the-air tv channels, so really just don't need cable.

  9. I loved this movie and if Rick wants to see it, I'll happily watch it again. Later I checked the historical references and they did a pretty good job, considering what all they had to juggle.
