The Dig is a 2021 film based on a true story about the discovery of Sutton Hoo. It stars Ralph Fiennes. These based-on-a-true-story films aren't usually my thing, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I watched it on Netflix.

I have wanted to see this one, alas we don't have Netflix. I am rethinking the gift of Netflix for Christmas!! :)
ReplyDeleteWe get our money's worth out of Netflix. We don't miss cable at all.
DeleteThis sounds really good, thanks, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI was surprised I liked it so much.
Delete...I can dig it.
ReplyDeletelol!
DeleteExcellent movie. I've watched it twice.
ReplyDeleteIt sent me googling for more information :)
DeleteI enjoyed it, too. It told the story well.
ReplyDelete-- A Pal
a movie with broad appeal :)
DeleteIn my watch list but haven't gotten to it yet. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's worth watching :)
DeleteSounds interesting .But why is it subtitled in English?
ReplyDeleteMost things seem to have subtitles, but those can be turned off.
DeleteI checked what Wikipedia had on this dig that I had never heard of before. It was a fascinating read. I wonder if this film will ever make it to cable TV?
ReplyDeleteAh, cable... Do you get any tv at all without it? We get 5 over-the-air tv channels, so really just don't need cable.
DeleteI loved this movie and if Rick wants to see it, I'll happily watch it again. Later I checked the historical references and they did a pretty good job, considering what all they had to juggle.
ReplyDeleteIt was interesting to read the history and see how faithful they managed to be.
