Today is the anniversary of the death in 1970 of Marie Menken, painter, actress and experimental film maker. Her acting roles include parts in Andy Warhol's Chelsea Girls and The Life of Juanita Castro. Her 5-minute film Glimpse of the Garden has been selected for preservation by the Library of Congress as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" and can be viewed online:
