Les Astronautes (1959):
There is an owl featured in this little 12-minute film, so you really should give it a chance. The owl first shows up right at the beginning. Let that be a lesson to you: Never save small red rockets.
La Jetée (1962):
is currently best known for having inspired the 1995 film Twelve Monkeys. Senses of Cinema has an essay on the film.
