Mother and I went to the Southern Festival of Books today. This is the second time it's been held in Memphis, and we've enjoyed it both times. We got downtown and parked by 10 and stayed until 4:30. We saw all the displays, ate chicken kabobs and listened to several speakers. We heard J. A. Jance, 3 women involved in writing a book on various spiritualities of Southern women, and Ace Atkins.
The one disappointment was that the antiquarian booksellers that were there last time were not there this time, and I had so looked forward to browsing their offerings.
