Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice is a 1983 fantasy film, a joint production of Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta, using rotoscope animation. It's a beautiful looking piece, and a fun story. Hero rescues the kidnapped princess, evil is overthrown, now goodness can flourish throughout the land.

Moria says,
As the story goes, Fire and Ice is strictly a by-the-numbers fantasy scenario, but Ralph Bakshi’s careful attention to characters, the impressive gutsiness of action and the often arresting softness of images, make for a modest standout effort.
DVD Talk concludes:
Final Thoughts: A visually impressive and beautiful film, Fire and Ice is rather unique especially in this day of computer animation. The story is simple and uncluttered, even the dialog is kept to a minimum, but the production overcomes those limitations with imagination and creativity. This Blu-ray disc looks and sounds very good too. Bakshi fans should run out and buy this immediately, and for animation and fantasy fans in general it comes recommended.
Rotten Tomatoes has an audience score of 53%.

I watched this as part of the Once Upon a Time Challenge Quest on Screen.
