The Daughter and I went down to Beale Street on May 1 to enjoy a little music before Memphis in May got into full swing the next day. We heard the Blues Express at WC Handy Park:

It was such fun to see folks from scattered parts of the world gathered together to hear the blues on Beale.

I had intended to get by sooner, but life has gotten in the way of computer time. I SO enjoy the time you spend in your home town. The park looks like a fun place to spend a warm sunny spring day. Beautiful music for fun times, too.
ReplyDeleteit's so much fun to play tourist in your own town. when i went up to put money in the tip bucket the singer asked where i was from. i said, "here!" and gave him a thumbs up. lol he gave me applause & a big smile. the woman ahead of me was from france!
DeleteI'd listen to blues most anywhere. Never heard of Memphis in May but it sounds like a fun celebration

memphis in may is a month-long party with something for everybody, but there's blues here all the time. :)
