Come to Grief

Come to Grief, by Dick Francis, won the Edgar Award in 1996. It was ok, I guess. The protagonist is saintly and superhuman, which I found tiring.

  1. First of all, I LOVED seeing the scripture verse in your sidebar. It gives me such joy to find other Christians, as well as other readers. Secondly, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who wasn't thrilled with this. I had such high hopes for an Edgar Award, and this book didn't mee them. We knew who was cutting off the hooves in the first ten pages; what surprise is that?

  2. Thanks! I was glad to find a way to embed the scripture verse.

I agree with your disappointment. I was not inspired to rush out and buy more books by him.
