The Harlem Renaissance is considered The revival or transformation of the African American community.

  4. That's not something I think there are a lot of, but then I'm not film expert.

    1. They were called "race films" and were quite a thing in the first half of the 1900s.

  5. I´ll never understand why we differ according to colors. Believes, yes, but the plain color?
And over such a long time, too.
But. Ukraine shows, "we" never learn.
I´ll have a look later - soon Die Maus and a fairy tale starts :-)

  8. The first time I went to NYC, I crossed the bridge and landed in Harlem. Someone told me I could have been killed just for being white. I never felt in danger at all and loved the vibe there. This is an excellent film to show especially in the wake of Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation to the Supreme Court.

    1. I've never been there. These films were an interesting target-audience genre. I wonder why they quit making them in the mid-50s...
