The exterior is certainly nothing to write home about, but the interior was nicely decorated for Christmas:
The Husband and I had the toasted ravioli appetizer:
and spaghetti:
The Younger Son had pizza:
The service was slow as Christmas (see what I did there?), but the staff was pleasant and we were in no hurry. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, listening to Christmas music, eating delicious food, and people-watching.
We had dessert at home. Join me? The Husband made them, and there are still some left:
Please join the weekly T Stands for Tuesday blogger gathering hosted by Bleubeard and Elizabeth. We share a drink (that's Coke in my glass above) and visit with one another. You'll find a warm welcome there.
Toasted ravioli sounds delicious, I want some. And perhaps a gingerbread bread man for dessert.... Happy T Day, happy New year and all the best for you and yours. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWow, what yummy food you chose, the toasted ravioli looks amazing! I love the look of those gingerbread cookies too, my favourite 😁. By the way, the Poinsettia cocktail recipe is 1 part Cointreau (orange liqueur), 3 parts Prosecco (which is Italian champagne so sparkling wine, Cava or champagne is ok too) and 3 parts cranberry juice. Enjoy and Happy T Tuesday! J 😊
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing where you go out to eat-the meal sounds delicious for sure. I love gingerbread cookies allot-I should make them more often during the year too-I plenty of cookie cutters lol Happy T Day and Happy New Year too hugs Kathy
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they don't bother doing something about the outer appearance... it looks lovely inside! The food all looks delish-and I'd really like to try the toasted ravioli. And there's nothing like home made cookies. Happy T Day and happy New Year too!
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant has been here since 1923, so I guess they think it's worked for them so far ;) They are a Memphis institution http://www.colettas.net/ but it is a very ugly building, I think.
DeleteColetta’s doesn’t look like much – outside or in – but the food looks great!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and Happy T-Day. Hugs, Eileen
Oh yum to your dinner. This restaurant is clearly one of those that you should not judge from the outside. It does look cozy inside. I am tired of the restaurants all having those warehouse ceilings of the metal beams & industrial lighting, it makes it noisy & cold.
ReplyDeleteAccording to their web site, they are the oldest restaurant in Memphis and introduced pizza to Memphis, too. Looks like you went to their first restaurant. The inside was certainly festive and colorful, and I see you are STILL in Christmas mode. I love that!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your ravioli appetizers, pasta, and pizza with us, as well as your coke for T this Tuesday. Your husband is truly a great baker. I grabbed a cookie while no one was looking (grin).
BTW, what happened to your icon?
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering that same thing! It's still on the upper right on the blog but doesn't seem to show up in comments. I opened a Google+ account, and it's possible that something I did there changed a setting. I need to look at it and see if I can get it back.
DeleteYour dinner looks delicious, I like the sound of toasted ravioli, I've not seen that here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look a real treat as well.
Happy T day wishes.
